She emanates kindness and positivity and creates a friendly and welcoming shopping experience at City Chemist. Considered an essential worker, as manager of a pharmacy, she has continued to come to work all throughout the shut down.
Last week I needed a prescription delivered to my apartment in Crown Heights and I was expecting their signature delivery car to pull up with the gentleman who does their deliveries. This time my phone rang and it was a woman’s voice who said “delivery.” I ran downstairs and there to my complete surprise and pleasure was beautiful Stephanie. She decided to take it upon herself to make the delivery in person. “I had to take the #3 anyway and just got off one express stop earlier, I’ll just walk home from here” . Hunkering down and missing Dumbo it was such a pleasure to see her familiar face.
Stephanie has been in Dumbo for 11 years almost as long as City Chemist has been on Jay Street.
I love working in the community” states Stephanie. “You really get to know your customers and form relationships. The first time a customer called out my name I was a little surprised. It was wow, people here take the time to get to know the staff. Now, it happens more than once a day, everyday. Dumbo is a tight knit community of really nice people and it is my pleasure to keep this store running smoothly and looking beautiful.
Stephanie lives with her husband and two adorable young sons in East, New York,Brooklyn.
